Remain Hopeful and Keep Moving!

Tips for transitioning well from 2018 to 2019.

There are these two things, then, that cannot change and about which God cannot lie. So we who have found safety with him are greatly encouraged to hold firmly to the hope placed before us. We have this hope as an anchor for our lives. It is safe and sure, and goes through the curtain of the heavenly temple into the inner sanctuary.
-Hebrews 6:18‭-‬19 GNTD

Have you ever had an itching feeling that you are supposed to do something big?

What’s stopping you?

Let us consider Jesus who knew his purpose and was willing to fulfill it by any means necessary. He was lied on, betrayed, talked about, and misused but he never abandoned his purpose. God called Him to do something epic and he accepted the challenge.

Jesus said these things. Then, raising his eyes in prayer, he said: Father, it’s time. Display the bright splendor of your Son So the Son in turn may show your bright splendor. You put him in charge of everything human So he might give real and eternal life to all in his charge. And this is the real and eternal life: That they know you, The one and only true God, And Jesus Christ, whom you sent. I glorified you on earth By completing down to the last detail what you assigned me to do. And now, Father, glorify me with your very own splendor, The very splendor I had in your presence Before there was a world.
John 17:1‭-‬5 MSG

God has plans for you! Pursue him and you will recover all!

New Year, Better Me

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
                    John 14:12‭-‬13 NKJV
The idea of a new year’s resolution has always troubled me. I have a problem with making promises to myself that I know I will not keep. I shy away from them and say my change begins today and not at the top of the calendar for the new year. So for the past 7 years I have not made any “resolutions”.

I realise now that I have been short changing myself because no resolution for me means excuses not to try. Not to seek better or pursue those things that honestly scare me. So for 2018 (deep breath in) I am going to pursue every active “I can’t” and “I will never get over…”.

These past few months I have started to pray in the spirit and God is revealing new possibilities that I had never even dreamed of and the quite honestly freak me out. Then He reminded me that I myself alone can not do them, but with His power living on the inside of me I can lay hold of anything I am bold enough to have faith for.

Armed with this new perspective I am about to go after my biggest giants with my ears wide open listening for the wisdom of the Holy spirit. He is not there just to comfort me but to do greater works through me. Only for His glory.

Changing Tracina

I am by no means an agent of change. I like my comfy mess and I am content to stand still. The issue is that I told God to make me into what He wants me to be and my love for Him overrides my comfortable disposition. When I relinquished control things started to change, although at times uncomfortable, it pushed me on to a new level. I find that the things I thought I liked and possibly even loved, things were in reality not conducive to my development, no longer appealed to me.
Riding with God has been a journey, like a rollercoaster that only plateaus for a short time before it takes off again. I have experienced turbulence, darkness, and even fear, but through it all God is reassuring me that I am heading to a place in him that will cause others to draw near to Him. I don’t mind the ride and I love that His only requirement for me is to show love to His creations and to Give Him glory.

Don’t just take my word for it!
Ecclesiastes 3 ESV

1 FOR EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON, AND A TIME FOR EVERY MATTER UNDER HEAVEN…

11 HE HAS MADE EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL IN ITS TIME. ALSO, HE HAS PUT ETERNITY INTO MAN’S HEART, YET SO THAT HE CANNOT FIND OUT WHAT GOD HAS DONE FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END. 12 I PERCEIVED THAT THERE IS NOTHING BETTER FOR THEM THAN TO BE JOYFUL AND TO DO GOOD AS LONG AS THEY LIVE; 13 ALSO THAT EVERYONE SHOULD EAT AND DRINK AND TAKE PLEASURE IN ALL HIS TOIL—THIS IS GOD’S GIFT TO MAN.
