Even if I don’t verbalize it my attitude towards life is not always good.
My perspective at best is usually set on how I feel from one moment to another unless I have my mind on Jesus.
Things I complain about:
Bills: too many to pay
My son and my parents: they can be a little needy at times
My job: I go in ready to go home
My house: Grass to cut and rooms to clean
Worship tips my perspective back into the correct position. There are two sides to every coin, I’m flipping mines to the grateful side.
Things I am thankful for:
Bills: thank you for the amenities in my life, you blessed me with extra
My son and my parents: Thank you that I have them around still
My job: thank you that I am not in the unemployment line
My house: Thank you that I have a safe place to rest
It’s bill day Friday and while I’m writing checks and pushing “send payment” I will be saying, Thank you lord for all of the extra you allowed me to have.
I am so glad that the Lord is not in heaven keeping a bill of sale for everything he provides because we would be bankrupt and hopeless.
The next time I set my lips to trip I will consider the cost of the cross. Thank you Jesus that you paid it all.
John 4:23-24 (MSG)
“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”
1 Chronicles 29:10-14 NIV
10 David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,
“Praise be to you, Lord, the God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
11 Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
12 Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
13 Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
14 “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand
