Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.(1 Peter 4:12)
Trials and trouble are a guarantee. Life will happen but we can choose the life we live by our confessions. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.(Proverbs 18:21) In other words which fruit will you choose?
One of my greatest struggles has been restlessness. I no longer medicate to sleep. Night after night at about the same time I am awake. Before I truly turned my life over to Christ I constantly ran numbers trying to figure out how not to be broke. I worried about how I would have enough food to stretch over a 2 week period. I worried about someone finding out i was worried because it may seem like sign of weakness. All that worrying stressed me out! I forgot that I have a choice as for what I can do with my sleepless nights. So I started to pray. Not just any prayer but I began to repeat the promises of God back to Him and myself. (Isaiah 43:26) It’s not that He forgot but so that I can remember who I am in Him. I have the right to these benefits. What are those benefits? The right to His unfailing love, healing, redemption, strength, freedom from worry and peace.
So with holy ghost boldness I can confess:
Hello problems, I see you. You may have a right to exist, but not in me. I am a child of the most high God and His word says… (Fill in the blank, find out what the word of God has to say for your situation.)
Don’t just take my word for it!
